Term 3
Motivational Speech
In English we have been writing and performing a motivational speech about how we can save the Earth from deforestation, climate change and littering.
Welcome Back!
Welcome back, we hope you had a wonderful Christmas break. We would like to say a huge thank you for our very thoughtful cards and gifts.
PE will still be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please ensure your child brings a labelled water bottle into school every day. Reading books should be read frequently through the week and brought back to school on Thursday so they can be changed and sent home on Friday. If your child is on the same reading level this is great opportunity to develop their reading fluency and accuracy. Home learning is to be completed through the term and is due on Monday 9th February.
We also welcome Miss Hay to the Cherry Team on a Tuesday and Wednesday the children know her from lunchtime and premier after school club.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to the term ahead. Please do catch us at the end of the day.

Term 2

Volunteers needed
Our Christmas Fayre is fast approaching! If you can spare some time on the day between 11:30-2:30pm please let your class teacher know. Thank you!
Welcome back!
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are so proud of how well the children have settled into year 2. We are looking forward to a wonderful year together!
Please take a look at our curriculum map for the Autumn Term on the class webpage and attached to this letter. It has lots of important information about our learning for the next two terms. Please remember not to tell your child the title of the book as this will spoil the surprise for them.
The children will be coming home with their Home Learning books next week. This will have some ideas for you to work through at home this term linked to our learning in school. This can be kept at home but brought back into school on Monday 13th October so we can share each other’s work.
There will also be some reading books coming home next week. Please keep these at home to read until next Thursday when they will be changed. It may be helpful if children could bring a book bag or small rucksack with them on a Friday so that the reading books can be easily transported between home and school.
PE will be on Tuesday and Wednesday; children need to come to school in their PE kits. As we move towards Autumn it will be important for children to wear black jogging bottoms/leggings and their school jumper/zoodie to stay warm. Trainers will also be more practical and comfortable to wear all day. Velcro trainers will be appreciated please. Earrings need to be taken out or covered at home.
Please ensure that any clothing and belongings brought into school are clearly labelled including water bottles, lunch boxes, book bags, PE kits, school uniform and coats. It is encouraged that your child brings a filled water bottle into school every day which only contains water so they can stay hydrated.
Please remember to use the cherry email cherryteacher@west-malling.kent.sch.uk if you have any questions or for any information you need to give to us.
Thank you for your continued support.
