Year 6 Ash

Science morning

What a fabulous way to end our year, carrying out science experiments with our Chestnut class buddies. We will miss you all!

Team West Malling Heptathlon

We will be running, jumping and throwing in 7 Olympic style events on Wednesday 10th July.

Children should therefore wear their PE kit to school on this day, they will also need a sun hat.

Kent Police Open Day

A great day was had by all at the police open day today.  There was lots of safety advice given out as well as bags of freebies!  The public order display and police dog display in the main arena were definitely a hit.

Information for Parents

Please see below the SATs information pack for parents and a letter explaining about Kooth (online emotional health support for young people).  Both of these documents have links on them so it may be easier to click on the links rather than type in long web addresses.

Class closure 24-11-23  -  Good morning Ashlings - I hope you are not too sad about not being in school today crying!

But never fear - I have added some maths work below so that you can practice the skills we have been learning in class.  There are also some fraction questions to have a go at and see if you can remember how to do these.

There are lots of questions but you DO NOT have to do them all!  Choose where you want to begin but remember to try and challenge yourself.  See if you can complete at least 10 of each type of question (multiplication, division, fractions).

You also have home learning which you can do today, learning your spellings and times table Rockstars.

Enjoy your day and think about Mrs McConnel and I sitting here making lots of slime that you should be making today.  We will see you all at the Christmas Fair on Saturday smiley.

Secondary Education Application Process Meeting Presentation

Thursday 21st

After a slow and very tired start to the day, things started to pick up once we hit the water. All the rafts were a huge success with only a few sliding off into the water!  After a hot shower, we built shelters then flew through the air on the zip lines.

Wednesday 20th

We had a great morning building teamwork skills on the obstacle challenge and laser quest (despite the rain!).  During this afternoon, the children were set a series of challenges to overcome in problem solving and then came the leap of faith!

Tuesday 19th (just!)

The rain certainly enhanced the nightline experience this morning so there are lots of muddy clothes and wet shoes heading home!  This afternoon we had our first high ropes activity on the high equilibrium which challenged a few but every child pushed themselves to their limits - and beyond!

We finished the evening with nearly everyone joining in several card games in the corridor before bed.

Monday 18th September

We have had an excellent start to our Kingswood experience - the sun has shone on us despite our worries with all the rain earlier in the day!  The children have bounced and run and explored today and are looking forward to tomorrow's activities.
