Sports Day IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Just a reminder that Sports Day 2022 is tomorrow, Tuesday 21st June, beginning at 12:45pm.

The children will need to come to school in their PE kit (shorts/leggings and trainers) and a t-shirt in their Castle Team colour. If they do not have a Castle Team coloured t-shirt they should wear a white t-shirt.

Please make sure your child is not wearing any jewellery and that long hair is tied back. The weather forecast is looking lovely - please ensure that your child has a sun hat and plenty of sun cream applied before they arrive at school and a bottle with them to apply more themselves at lunch time if you/they wish. It is also essential that your child has a water bottle with them.

Parents and grandparents are very welcome to come along for the afternoon fun. Gates will be open from 12:30pm and re-close at 12:45pm. Refreshments will be available courtesy of our wonderful PTA.

Gold Group Swimming:

Please could gold group bring pajamas to school for swimming each Monday please.

Water Bottles:

Please ensure that your child is coming to school everyday with a filled water bottle. Water bottles should be filled with WATER ONLY. Please can we ask that water bottles are leak proof as we had a number of leakages last term. Thank you

Spellings in Term 6

During Term 6 we will have a slightly different format to the weekly spellings. The whole terms worth of spellings will be stuck into your child's Home Learning book (please ensure these are taken into school on the first day back). There will be NO PRACTICE SHEET sent home weekly.

The digital copy of the terms spellings will be on the class page too.

Extra Spellings

If your child was having extra spellings in Term 5, this will continue in Term 6. Your child's extra spellings will be stuck into their home learning book alongside the set 10 for the week.

Jubilee Celebrations

Well done to all of the children in Mulberry Class for putting on such a fantastic performance, you all did so well!

IMPORTANT SCHOOL PHOTOS

Tomorrow (Friday) we are having our class photos, please ensure that you come to school in your FULL school uniform. We will not have our usual PE lesson tomorrow as we will be having our photograph taken in our usual PE slot. Thank you!

Home Learning books!

Home learning will be sent out tomorrow (Friday 29th), today we only had about half of the class bring in their book. Please can we ask that any books at home are taken to school tomorrow. Many thanks.

Work to be proud of!

It has been really beneficial to speak with lots of parents this week. During our consultations I have mentioned that pupils will be bringing home a piece of work that they are proud of.  We have selected the Tierra Del Fuego report that children have been working on this week as all children have taken a lot of pride and time over this work. Some children are still finishing off and finalising their work so some of these may come home later this week.

Welcome back!

We have had a wonderful first week back to school and have already learnt so much! The spellings for this week have been uploaded to the spelling page of the website and a copy will be sent home for children to practise today.

Children will also be coming home today with the food diary sheet for science, this is the home learning that is due in on Thursday 3rd March. Please ensure that your child fills this out as we will be using it as part of our learning in class.

Maths - this week we have been focusing on finding fractions of an amount of objects. We have used different objects to work out the answers!

Science - we carried out an investigation to find out if the length of a persons femur affects how far someone can jump

Geography - we looked at how land height is shown on a map and created or own relief maps using salt dough!

Maths - we took our learning outside, made paper planes and we measured how far they flew! We used metres and centimetres to make sure our measurements were accurate!

Friday 28th January

Mulberry Class will have an additional PE session, so please wear your PE kit to school on Friday laugh

Welcome back to Mulberry class! We have had a brilliant first day back, we have been introduced to some new fluffy friends....our very own quiet critters! I am sure the children will be excited to tell you about them!

Just a reminder to please bring in your home learning book tomorrow if you still have it at home - the home learning for this term will be stuck in ready for the books to go home on Friday.

Thank you, Miss Walker
