Chance to Shine Cricket Workshop

Please could Year 4 come into school in PE kits on Thursday as they will be taking part in a special Cricket workshop in the morning. This will be in addition to their normal PE lesson on Friday. 1 down should say - 'what do you think is going to happen?' (science related)

Thank you

IMPORTANT - Purple Reading Journals

In Mulberry we are having a big focus this term on reading as a number of children are not bringing in their reading journals from home into school each day. The children really want to get onto the R.A.L.F board and to do this they need to be reading daily at home and having their journal signed. Please can you ensure that your child is bringing in their reading journal to school everyday. Thank you.

We have had a fantastic morning with the author, Karen Greaves.

Telling the time (Tuesday 23rd May 2023)

In maths this week we have been working on telling the time. Today a sheet has been sent home, this sheet is for your child to practice telling the time at home. Please return this sheet after half term.

We would usually do a spelling test on Wednesday but today there was some confusion over the words that should have been learnt. We will be testing the following words on Wednesday 24th May.

1. anticlockwise

2. antiseptic

3. antifreeze

4. antisocial

5. anticlimax

6. antibiotic

We are really looking forward to our school trip to London on Tuesday!

We will be going on the London Eye and will then make our way across the river to see some more of London's famous landmarks.

We are extremely lucky to be able to access Downing Street and have a photograph taken outside no.10.

Children must bring a bag to carry the following items:

  • Water bottle
  • Packed lunch (usual rules apply, no fizzy drinks, sweets, or glass bottles etc)
  • Waterproof coat

Children do not need any spending money, mobile phones, toys etc.

West Malling Library Books

We had a wonderful time at the library and learnt lots of interesting things!

Some children were able to take books home (if they were registered on the library system). Please ensure that the books are returned to your local library on the date stamped inside the book. These books should not be taken into school and the school is not responsible for the books if they are lost or damaged.

If you would like to take your child to the library or to sign up for a library card all the details can be found here:

Tomorrow (Tuesday) we are going to West Malling Library. A parent mail was sent out to remind you about making sure your child has a library card. Please ensure that they bring it with them on Tuesday to allow them to take a book out. Thank you.

School Trip

We have now received almost all of the permission slips for the trip to the London Eye, thank you!

Please could we remind you that the voluntary payment needs to be made as soon as possible to ensure that this trip can go ahead. Many thanks.
