Term 1
Only two weeks to go until half-term, and we seem to have done so much already! The children have shown great maturity in our English and reading sessions where we have discussed racial inequality and racism at great length. I am really proud of the thought and care that goes into their responses and that they are genuinely shocked that racism exists.
In maths, we have covered place value, rounding, and we have just moved on to addition and subtraction. The children are working hard at ensuring their numbers are in the correct place value position and that they are remembering to exchange.
Science has been noisy as we investigate sound and the children discovered ways to be able to see sound waves, with drums and bird seed and water and a turning fork.
Year 4 is a big year for Romans, and we are just coming to the end of the first term of learning, where we have learnt about Romulus, the Roman Republic and the Punic Wars.
With only two weeks left, it seems like we still have a lot to fit in but the children are also starting to show signs of needing that break.
