The Pupil Premium is allocated to children from low-income families who are currently known to be eligible for Free School Meals in both mainstream and non-mainstream settings and children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months. At West Malling Church of England Primary School, we invest this additional funding into these pupils wisely to increase their attainment both academically and socially.
Here are some examples of how we have utilised the Pupil Premium in our school:
* We employ a Families and Community Manager who works closely with targeted children and families to secure engagement in learning.
* One to One tuition and intervention programmes have been used specifically to target children to raise their attainment in reading, writing and numeracy.
* We employed a specialist Reading Teacher to work with targeted children in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 to accelerate progress.
* We have employed an additional Teacher and Teaching Assistant to work specifically with a group of children who are eligible for Pupil Premium funding.
This page provides information on how we have spent the funding we have received, along with details of how you can apply for free school meals. Our next Pupil Premium strategy review meeting is scheduled for 18th June 2019.
