Members of our Young Language Ambassadors club have been leading the school's response to the "Send My Friend to School" Campaign.
In 2000, over 180 countries signed up to a set of commitments for a better world to tackle issues such as hunger and poverty. These Millennium Development Goals included a goal of education for all by 2015.
But time is running out. 58 million children are still missing out on school. At the current rate of progress, it will be 2086 by the time every child is in school. So students from across 4000+ schools are lobbying their local MP to ensure that their voice is heard by the Prime Minister.
West Malling has done its part by inviting our local MP Tom Tugendhat to visit the school. He has taken away a box filled with pictures and models of children requesting that world leaders meet the commitment of education for all.
As well as talking about the campaign, Mr Tugendhat took time to inspire the children further as leaders for our school and community.
